Our probation staff supervise and engage our service users in rehabilitative processes to ensure safer communities and reduce reoffending. There are two main types of staff who supervise service users: case managers and senior case managers.
If you are interested in an exciting and rewarding career in as a probation case manager, we welcome people who have:
- worked with individuals with challenging behaviour
- the ability to enforce standards and procedures
- an understanding of the importance of performance and quality in practice
Qualifications and experience
To become a case manager you will need a VQ3 Diploma in Probation Practice or equivalent. Voluntary or paid experience working with vulnerable people is essential. One way to get voluntary experience is via schemes run by Merseyside CRC. For more information on volunteering with us click here.
To become a senior case manager you will need a certificate of qualification in Social Work, Diploma in Social Work, Diploma in Probation Studies, CJL or equivalent.
Our parent company, Interserve, is at the forefront of developing new qualifications for case managers to qualify as senior case mangers by foregoing traditional routes. These will be available in 2018.
