User voice conference 3 head shot

A joint conference between Merseyside CRC and User Voice, the first of its kind, was held on Friday 17th July 2015.  The event, held at Tomorrow’s Women Wirral, was a huge success with talks from Annette Hennessy OBE, CEO of MCRC & Mark Johnson MBE, CEO User Voice.  Alongside the CEO talks were short films showing our success stories and powerful stories from service users.  The conference was well attended and represented by staff and service users of both organisations along with a special performance from MD Productions, Britain’s Got Talent semi-finalists.  The content was recorded in cartoon form by Spectator and Private Eye Cartoonist Tony Husband.  Rosie Goodwin, Assistant Chief Executive said “This conference was ground breaking in that it brought together Probation Officers and Service Users to share their stories of how they have overcome barriers to successfully desist from reoffending. I am extremely proud and excited to have showcased so many wonderful examples of the work our staff have successfully undertaken with our service users and the achievements they have made together.”
Mark Johnson, CEO of User Voice equally excited shared his thoughts on the conference, “This was a great opportunity to highlight the importance of involving service user’s in the rehabilitation process. User Voice and Merseyside CRC are doing great work together to reduce reoffending in Merseyside, and this was a great event to highlight all of that.”
